This action assesses the current developments in legislation and regulatory frameworks controlling emissions from spark ignition engines, brakes, tyres, and clutches in order to propose ways to develop standardised sampling procedureand measurement techniques for nanoparticles from these sources. The group aimed to identify mitigations measures for an average of 50% reduction in sub 100 nm particle number.
In this workshop the group tried to provide input on the following questions:
- Can we based on the nPETS results propose standards for sampling procedures and measurement techniques for nanoparticles from engines, brakes, tyres and clutches?
- Can we from nPETS results identify sources from critical components for future legislations?
- Can we from nPETS identify critical conditions or events that can significantly increase the amount of sub 100 nm emissions?
